For the first time in I think forever, my children and I were home just the 4 of us for Thanksgiving. We were all giddy with excitement to have time to ourselves. Many games of football were watched, of which I know very little about but called a sack and I was correct. The pride on my boys face that I actually retained a sports term was precious.
In between chopping and peeling we found ourselves back on the couch on to the next game. Millie and I were able to squeeze a movie in between games.
Like most of us after our dinner prayer we tend to reflect of what we are thankful for. This year I said to my children: we all know what we are thankful for and that is the thanks part of Thanksgiving, but how about the giving part?" To me, I keep thinking about forgiving. I asked my children to think about being more forgiving or possibly forgiving someone for something they said or did.
It’s important to find different meanings in holidays to help us all grow and be aware.
