  The After Party

Like most other people I love to watch the Oscars.  I like to see who wins and what they are going to say…but I really watch it for the fashion.  I especially love to see what stars are wearing at the after parties. The Oscars red carpet tends to be a bit more conservative but at the after parties you will see more trends and risqué choices.  I had a few absolute favorites this year:

Kate Bosworth in Ralph and Russo: My top pick for the evening… she looked absolutely angelic in her lilac off the shoulder gown.  The floral detail was heavenly and the silhouette was perfect for her small frame!  It’s so romantic and whimsical, I love it!  She is also right on trend with the off the shoulder look.

Elizabeth Banks also in Ralph and Russo: This is a little more of an edgier look but I love it!  Not many people can pull off a caped palazzo jumpsuit but she killed it!   I really loved the crisp clean white color and the embroidered bodice.

Diane Krueger in Reem Acra: You can usually count on her to look ultra glam and fashion forward and this look was no exception.  The scarlet color of this gown is gorgeous and I love the sheer embellished fabric with the fringe detail.  It looks like it could be vintage but the sheer fabric makes it right on trend.

Taylor Swift in Alexandre Vauthier: This was definitely one of her sexiest looks to date.  From the form-fitting silhouette to the plunging neckline and the thigh-high slit, this look was sexy but also sophisticated.  I also love the gold choker and the tuxedo sash detail.  She definitely has the height and body to pull this look off and I thought she did it well.

And the award to best Bump coverage goes to Anne Hathaway in Naeem Khan:

I thought she looked like a dazzling bohemian goddess in her loose fitting gown with gold grommets and sheer neck and shoulders.  Not to mention she was positively glowing… pregnancy looks good on her.

Halloween is always a favorite holiday of mine because I love to dress up!  My boyfriend and I always go all out and get creative and make our costumes.  This year we finally won first place at the costume contest.  Introducing Bruce and Caitylyn:)

  The Dog Days of Faye's

This week has been especially fantastic for me because of all the puppy visitors we have had at the store.  One of our co-workers got a new puppy and so did one of our favorite customers!  In my opinion there is nothing better than a snuggle with a new puppy!  Anyone who knows me knows that I am a little dog crazy… I would have a whole house full of them if I could.  With all the puppy visitors in the store, we got on the subject of dog walking and what our favorite dog walking outfits are.  For me it’s all about comfort, warmth, and flexibility.  You need all of these things when you are walking an 80 pound Staffordshire Terrier and a 50 pound German Shepard mix.

This is my idea for the perfect dog walking outfit:

Ciao Milano Jacket

Press Novelty Tee

Hard Tail Sweat Pants

Minnie Rose Scarf

Superga Sneakers

All available at Faye’s in Mequon, WI.

  The Winter Blues....

Now that the holidays are over and the temperatures have gotten to the teens I officially feel myself getting hit with the winter blues.  But I do start to see the light at the end of the tunnel when I see all the beautiful resort wear that we have been getting in at the store.  The gorgeous pops of color make me think of Spring and put a smile on my face.  Pink, Royal Blue, Chartreuse, and orange..... all so pretty!

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

The holiday season is upon us and I couldn't be more excited! It's my favorite time of the year to get dressed up...holiday parties, New Years, and work events. There are so many reasons to get my fancy on! There is nothing in the world that I like more than to add a little sparkle and shine to wardrobe. So you can imagine my excitement when we received so many great party tops at the store last week. I am in sparkle heaven :)

  CROPTASTIC!

So this crop top trend really doesn't seem to be going anywhere.  I am seeing tons of crop sweaters for fall and I can't wait to try out the trend.  I was surprised when I saw crop tops on the red carpet at the Emmy's.  I was not sure if the look would translate well to evening wear but I really love it!

Two actresses bravely walked down the red carpet in a crop top ensemble...First was Sarah Hyland in a beautiful look by Christian Siriano.  I think she killed it!  Her look was on trend, elegant, and age appropriate for her.

Next was Ariel Winter wearing Black Halo Eve.  She looks equally as stunning and chic.

After seeing this I now know what I will be rocking for Holiday parties this year..Crop sweaters and a high waisted skirts.  I can't wait for Fall!!

  Feeling Inspired by color.

I saw an article today in In Style magazine that really inspired me to mix up my wardrobe color palette.  I am definitely more "Matchy Matchy" as my friends would call me.  But seeing these color combinations together really makes me want to step out of my comfort zone and mix mix mix.  My favorite is the Cypress + Steel Gray + Navy combination, it makes me really excited for Fall.  I also really love the Bright Cobalt + Maroon + Depp Navy Mix.  I don't normally mix colors from the same family but I really dig the cobalt and navy combo!
